Dr Chandra performs a large variety of surgical procedures, including many minimally-invasive vascular surgical procedures (endovascular or endovenous). He will go through the relevant procedures in detail at the time of your consultation.

 

Arterial Interventional or Surgical Procedures:

  • Treatment of aneurysmal diseases including aortic, iliac, femoral, popliteal, renal, mesenteric, subclavian, and brachial artery aneurysms.
    • Endovascular procedure (stent-graft).
    • Open procedure (bypass).
    • Hybrid (combination of endovascular and open procedures)
  • Treatment of acute and chronic arterial occlusive conditions including aortic, iliac, femoral, popliteal, tibial, renal, mesenteric, carotid, subclavian, and brachial arterial occlusive disease.
    • Endovascular procedures (angioplasty, atherectomy, stent, thrombolysis),
    • Open procedures (thrombectomy, endarterectomy, bypass graft).
    • Hybrid (combination of endovascular and open procedures)
  • Treatment of entrapment syndromes including Thoracic Outlet Syndromes, Popliteal Artery Entrapment Syndrome, and Chronic Compartment Syndrome.

 

Venous Interventional or Surgical Procedures:

  • Treatment of lower limb varicose veins and chronic venous hypertension (superficial venous incompetence).
    • Endovenous procedures (VenaSeal vein glue).
    • Sclerotherapy (injection of sclerosant into varicose veins).
    • Open surgical procedures (ligation, stripping, and stab avulsions of varicose veins)
  • Treatment of pelvic congestion syndrome and varicocoeles (pelvic venous incompetence)
    • Endovenous procedures (embolisation of dysfunctional ovarian or testicular veins.
  • Treatment of acute and chronic venous occlusion (May-Thurner Syndrome, acute DVT and chronic DVT).
    • Endovenous procedures (thrombolysis, venoplasty or venous stenting)

 

Vascular Access and Renal Replacement Procedures:

  • Insertion of tunnelled lines for haemodialysis and chemotherapy.
  • Laparoscopic insertion of continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) catheters.
  • Formation of arteriovenous fistulae (AVF) for haemodialysis or plasmaphoresis.
  • Formation of arteriovenous loop grafts (AVGs) haemodialysis or plasmaphoresis.

 

General Surgical Procedures:

  • Laparoscopic and/or open repair of simple and complex abdominal herniae.
  • Laparoscopic and/or open cholecystectomy for gallstone disease.
  • Excision of cutaneous lesions.
  • Emergency general surgery procedures.
